Aerodrome Finance is the primary liquidity hub on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2. It runs a ve(3,3) decentralized exchange: liquidity providers earn AERO emissions, and AERO holders lock into veAERO to vote on which pools receive emissions and to claim 100 percent of all protocol trading fees. Deeper liquidity attracts more volume, more volume generates more fees, and more fees make locking more attractive. It runs a standard AMM plus Slipstream, a concentrated-liquidity design.
