Aave Labs has launched an official Model Context Protocol server, creating a direct connection between AI assistants and one of DeFi’s largest lending protocols.
The server allows MCP-compatible assistants to read live Aave information across V3 and V4 and prepare blockchain transactions using official Aave infrastructure rather than relying only on model training data or third-party wrappers.
A user could, for example, ask an AI assistant to retrieve a wallet’s health factor, compare stablecoin yields or prepare a transaction supplying assets to Aave.
The important security feature is that transactions generated through the server remain unsigned.
The AI can assemble the transaction, but the wallet owner must still approve and sign it. That limits the risk of handing autonomous software unrestricted control of user funds.
The development marks a more practical stage of AI-crypto convergence. Rather than issuing another token with an AI label, a major DeFi protocol is creating an interface through which AI can interact with live financial infrastructure.
It also points toward a larger future in which users access DeFi through conversational agents instead of manually navigating protocol front ends.

Protocols that expose trusted machine-readable data and transaction-building capabilities can become financial infrastructure for AI assistants without giving those assistants unrestricted custody.
