A Bitcoin wallet inactive for more than four years moved its entire 4,500 BTC balance Friday.
The transfer was worth approximately $381 million at the time of movement. Onchain monitoring attributed to Lookonchain identified the dormant wallet and tracked the funds into a newly created address. Coinstrooper
The receiving address had not been identified as an exchange destination in the reporting reviewed for this scan.
That distinction matters.
Moving dormant Bitcoin does not automatically mean the holder intends to sell. Custody migration, wallet restructuring and estate planning can produce similar transactions.
The absence of a confirmed exchange destination therefore keeps the transaction in surveillance status rather than establishing it as sell-side pressure.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
This is a legitimate whale movement, but not yet a bearish signal.
The next destination matters more than the initial transfer.
Token Recon will watch whether the 4,500 BTC remains dormant in the new wallet, fragments into additional addresses or moves toward a known exchange or institutional custodian.
