Bitget Misses Scheduled USDT Withdrawal Reopening

Bitget’s incident page continued to mark USDT withdrawals as pending after the scheduled September 30 reopening time of 08:00 UTC.

The affected routes are Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana and Tron. Bitcoin and Ether withdrawals are listed as resumed, while other cryptocurrencies, fiat withdrawals and peer-to-peer services remain scheduled for October 2.

The status appears on Bitget’s official security-incident page, last updated at 00:00 UTC on September 30. The page had not confirmed completion of the USDT phase when this scan was finalized. Bitget

Bitget now places the verified loss from the September 24 breach at approximately $388 million, involving 12 hot and warm wallet addresses. Its investigation says attackers exploited a vulnerability in a third-party security product, obtained privileged internal credentials and injected forged withdrawal commands. Private keys and cold wallets were not compromised, the exchange says.

Mandiant and SlowMist are assisting with the investigation. Bitget has reset credentials, disabled affected third-party functions and added independent withdrawal verification, but a complete forensic report has not been released.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The missed confirmation does not prove that USDT withdrawals failed across every network. It establishes that Bitget had not publicly verified the scheduled phase through its own incident tracker.

Restoring stablecoin withdrawals is a more demanding liquidity test than reopening a single asset. Confirmation should include actual availability on all four networks, onchain processing data and disclosure of any queues, limits or enhanced reviews. Until then, users should treat the USDT phase as incomplete.
