Bitcoin Tests $83,000 as Global Bond Yields Reset the Risk Landscape

Bitcoin is trading near $83,000, down approximately 1% over 24 hours and close to its session low around $82,900.

The pressure is developing alongside a global bond selloff. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield is near 5.23%, its highest since 2007, and is on course for its largest monthly increase in approximately two years. Reuters

The yield rose 81 basis points during the third quarter, its steepest quarterly increase since 2022. Brent crude is near $103 as the continuing Middle East conflict keeps inflation risk elevated. The dollar is on track for a 2% monthly gain.

Bitcoin remains on course for an unusually strong third quarter despite the present retreat. That relative resilience is being tested as government bonds offer higher returns and the cost of financing leveraged positions increases.

The immediate market structure is weaker than it was above $85,000. Ether has slipped to approximately $2,670, while Solana is near $118 and XRP is around $1.50.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

Bitcoin’s central test is whether it can defend the low-$82,000 region while real yields and the dollar remain elevated. A recovery above $85,000 would return the market to its former breakout range. Sustained trading below roughly $82,300 would indicate that macro pressure has overpowered the recent institutional bid.

The quarter has not closed at scan time, so performance claims based on the September 30 settlement remain provisional.
