Bitcoin Retakes $85,000 but Friday’s Rejection Still Defines the Range

Bitcoin is trading near $85,100, up roughly 0.6% over 24 hours and back above the $85,000 line it failed to hold after Friday’s advance. The intraday range is narrow, approximately $84,556 to $85,168, showing stabilization rather than a confirmed breakout.

Friday’s rally carried Bitcoin above $86,800 after weaker U.S. employment data reduced expectations for another immediate Federal Reserve rate increase. The move then reversed near $87,000, leaving that area as the first meaningful resistance rather than a newly established support level. barrons.com

Ether is near $2,700, Solana around $121 and XRP close to $1.50. Solana is outperforming the other large assets on the day, but the major-token complex is moving within a relatively tight weekend range.

The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF picture remains incomplete. Farside Investors currently records $31.7 million of net inflows for October 2, but BlackRock’s IBIT entry is still blank. The provisional figure should not be treated as the final institutional-demand total. Farside Investors

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

Bitcoin has repaired the $85,000 breach but has not erased the $87,000 rejection. A sustained move through Friday’s high with active spot volume would restore the breakout case. A return below $84,500 would put the $83,000 to $84,000 support zone back under pressure. Weekend price action deserves a liquidity discount, and the next full ETF update will provide a cleaner institutional confirmation signal.
