Bitcoin ETF Inflows Rebound to $525 Million as Price Fails to Hold $85,000

U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $524.8 million of net inflows on October 21, up from $23.2 million a day earlier. Token Recon calculates a 22.6-fold increase using the fund-level totals published by Farside Investors.

The flow was broader than Monday’s BlackRock-dominated surge. IBIT absorbed $235.0 million, Fidelity’s FBTC took in $212.7 million, Grayscale’s GBTC and BTC products added $32.6 million and $8.2 million, Bitwise’s BITB added $19.2 million, ARKB added $9.8 million and Franklin’s EZBC added $7.3 million. No tracked bitcoin product reported a net outflow.

Ether funds ended a five-session losing streak with a $14.9 million net inflow. The Farside ether table shows $13.0 million into FETH, $28.1 million into Grayscale’s ETH product and smaller inflows elsewhere, partly offset by a $29.3 million outflow from BlackRock’s ETHA. Solana products added only $0.6 million, according to Farside’s solana table.

Price did not confirm the institutional flow. Bitcoin traded near $81,800 at scan time after reaching an intraday high around $84,800. Ether was near $2,407, solana around $104 and XRP near $1.33. The ETF data covers the October 21 U.S. session, while crypto trades continuously, so the subsequent decline cannot be assigned to one cause from these figures alone.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The October 21 tape repaired the breadth problem identified yesterday: demand extended beyond IBIT and no tracked fund lost assets. It did not repair price structure. A $525 million inflow followed by a retreat toward $82,000 suggests either delayed selling elsewhere, macro pressure or insufficient spot demand outside the ETF channel. The next two sessions should be judged on both flow persistence and price acceptance above $84,500. Positive creations without price follow-through are accumulation evidence, not an automatic breakout signal.
