U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded a net inflow of $23.2 million on October 20, down from $526.7 million the previous session. Token Recon calculates a one-day decline of approximately 95.6% using Farside Investors’ fund-level table. The calculation compares daily net flows, not trading volume or fund assets.
BlackRock’s IBIT remained the largest buyer with $29.9 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC added $3.6 million and Bitwise’s BITB lost $10.3 million. The other tracked products reported zero net flow. Monday’s $665.2 million IBIT intake therefore did not produce broad follow-through across issuers.
Ether funds lost $26.1 million on October 20, their fifth consecutive negative session. Farside’s all-data table shows cumulative ether ETF outflows of about $388.9 million from October 14 through October 20. Solana funds lost another $2.6 million, while bitcoin still finished marginally positive.
Bitcoin traded near $83,300 at scan time, up about 2.3% over the prior close, after an intraday range of roughly $81,285 to $83,533. Price recovery alongside weak fund breadth indicates buyers were present outside the ETF channel, but the data do not identify those buyers.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
Monday’s inflow was a surge, not yet a trend. Bitcoin held above $83,000 even as ETF demand fell to a fraction of the prior session, but breadth remained poor and ether products kept bleeding. A durable institutional turn requires several sessions of positive bitcoin flows with participation beyond IBIT, not another isolated allocation.
