Bitcoin ETF Flows Reverse as 2026 Outflows Reach 120,000 BTC

Battlefield Report

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF flows have shifted sharply from the accumulation seen after their 2024 launch.

After attracting more than 500,000 BTC in cumulative net inflows during 2024, ETFs have recorded roughly 120,000 BTC in net outflows so far in 2026.

Intelligence Findings

The reversal points to weaker institutional demand during the current market downturn. ETF buying previously absorbed a large amount of available Bitcoin supply, providing consistent support for price.

That source of demand has now turned into net selling pressure.

The gap between 2024 and 2026 flows also raises questions over whether Bitcoin has established a durable bottom. Without renewed ETF accumulation, price recovery may depend more heavily on spot demand from other investor groups.

Threat Assessment

Continued ETF outflows would keep pressure on Bitcoin and weaken the case for a sustained recovery. A return to consistent net inflows would provide stronger evidence that institutional capital is rebuilding exposure.

TokenRecon Assessment

Bitcoin’s ETF demand structure has changed considerably since 2024. Until institutional flows stabilise, claims that the market has found a lasting bottom remain difficult to confirm.
