Blockchain.com is telling prospective investors that it wants to raise approximately $500 million through a U.S. initial public offering before the end of 2026.
The company is targeting a valuation between $4 billion and $6 billion and may accept a smaller offering, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the discussions. Terms remain subject to change. news.bloomberglaw.com
Blockchain.com confidentially submitted draft registration material to the Securities and Exchange Commission in May. Confidential review allows the company to work through SEC comments without immediately releasing its financial statements.
A public filing would disclose the information needed to evaluate the business, including revenue composition, customer assets, lending exposure, regulatory liabilities and the economics of its wallet and exchange operations.
The reported valuation remains below the $14 billion private-market figure assigned to Blockchain.com during 2022. Market conditions and the company’s current financial performance will determine whether prospective investors accept the new range.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The report becomes financially actionable only when Blockchain.com publishes a registration statement. Until then, the raise and valuation are proposed terms attributed to unnamed sources.
A public prospectus would also provide a rare view into one of crypto’s longest-running consumer platforms. Revenue quality and balance-sheet exposure will matter more than the company’s age or wallet-download totals.
