Anchorpoint Financial announced two linked expansion plans for HKDAP, its licensed Hong Kong dollar stablecoin. The issuer intends to support native minting and redemption on Solana and will explore settlement options with Mastercard and Visa.
HKDAP is currently in institutional beta on Ethereum. Anchorpoint’s public FAQ identifies the Ethereum contract and says full access, including retail distribution, is targeted as early as the end of 2026, subject to operational readiness. The Solana release does not publish a contract address or launch date.
The Solana collaboration targets payments, tokenized real-world assets and other high-volume uses. Anchorpoint says the Solana Foundation will also join its Tokenised Money Adoption Programme. Native minting would avoid representing HKDAP merely as a bridged claim, but the issuer must still maintain synchronized supply and redemption controls across chains. anchorpoint.hk
The card-network announcements are exploratory. Mastercard and Visa will examine issuer-settlement and product integrations; neither release says HKDAP is already accepted by merchants or available for general card settlement. anchorpoint.hk
Anchorpoint is a joint venture involving Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong, HKT and Animoca Brands. It received a Hong Kong Monetary Authority stablecoin issuer licence in April. Licensing confirms the issuer’s status, not the completion of either new integration.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The credible signal is that a regulated bank-backed issuer is preparing multi-chain issuance and testing connections to both major card networks. The unresolved risk is supply reconciliation across Ethereum and Solana, especially around minting, redemption, freezes and chain outages. A Solana contract, audited control design and first settled card-network transaction would convert exploration into deployment.
