MultiversX is preparing one of its most significant network upgrades to date.
The Supernova upgrade, scheduled for September 10, is designed to reduce block times from approximately six seconds to 600 milliseconds, representing roughly a tenfold improvement.
More than 5,000 validator nodes will need to migrate to software capable of supporting the new network rules. Supernova also restructures consensus so block voting and transaction execution can occur more efficiently in parallel.
MultiversX expects a temporary transition period of approximately 24 minutes during which new transactions will be queued rather than immediately processed while existing transactions clear and Supernova activates.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT:
The technical target is impressive, but execution is the real test. Recon should focus on validator migration before September 10 and whether the mainnet delivers the advertised performance once Supernova goes live.
