XRP Ledger Upgrade Nears Vote as Validators Prepare New Feature Package

Altcoin Intel

The XRP Ledger could receive one of its largest protocol upgrades in recent months as validators prepare to vote on a package of network amendments expected within the next two weeks.

According to XRPL validator Vet, the proposal includes support for batch transactions, confidential transfers, sponsored fees, and permission delegation, alongside performance improvements and bug fixes aimed at increasing network efficiency.

If approved, the changes would expand the ledger’s functionality while improving its ability to support enterprise payments, tokenized assets, and decentralized applications.

Market Context

The proposed upgrade reflects XRPL’s continued push beyond cross-border payments into broader financial infrastructure.

Features such as sponsored fees could reduce friction for new users by allowing third parties to cover transaction costs, while confidential transfers and permission delegation would provide additional flexibility for institutional and enterprise applications.

The amendments also arrive as competition among Layer 1 networks continues to center on usability, scalability, and real-world adoption rather than transaction speed alone.

Intelligence Assessment

The validator vote will determine whether these features become part of the XRP Ledger, making governance the next key catalyst for the network.

If approved, the upgrade would strengthen XRPL’s position in tokenization, enterprise payments, and decentralized finance by expanding the tools available to developers and institutions. The next indicators to watch are validator approval rates, activation timelines, and whether the new features drive higher transaction volumes and broader ecosystem activity after deployment.
