First U.S. Staked TRX ETF Begins Trading as Staking Moves Further Into Regulated Markets

The first U.S. exchange-traded fund combining exposure to TRON’s TRX token with staking rewards began trading Wednesday.

The Canary Staked TRX ETF launched under ticker TRXS, creating a regulated-market vehicle through which investors can obtain TRX exposure without directly managing cryptocurrency wallets.

Unlike a simple spot product, the fund can participate in TRON’s proof-of-stake system, with staking rewards reflected in the ETF’s net asset value.

That makes the launch significant for the larger regulatory debate around whether staking is compatible with registered investment products.

TRX had a market capitalization around $32 billion at launch, making it one of the larger digital assets to receive a staking-enabled U.S. wrapper.

The product also reflects a broader shift in U.S. crypto regulation. ETF issuers are moving beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum and attempting to package more blockchain-native activities — including staking — inside conventional securities structures.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The significance is bigger than TRX.

The question is whether staking becomes a routine feature of regulated crypto investment products.

Watch TRXS assets and volume, staking-yield treatment, custody disclosures and whether regulators allow similar structures across additional proof-of-stake networks.
