Strategy has asked shareholders to approve amendments allowing daily dividend record dates for four of its U.S.-listed preferred securities: STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. The proposal is documented in the company’s SEC filings and will go before shareholders at a special meeting scheduled for October 28. SEC
If approved, each calendar day would become a dividend record date, including weekends and holidays, with declared dividends payable on the next business day. Strategy says the changes would alter payment frequency without changing the underlying dividend economics. SEC
STRC would move first. Strategy expects its initial payment under the proposed daily structure on November 2 for holders of record November 1. STRF, STRK and STRD would begin under the new schedule in January 2027 if shareholders approve the amendments and the required amended certificates become effective. SEC
Strategy has already experimented with increasingly frequent distributions. Shareholders approved moving STRC from monthly to semi-monthly dividends in June. Strategy
The preferred securities are part of Strategy’s broader Bitcoin capital structure. The company has developed several preferred instruments to raise capital while maintaining its Bitcoin treasury strategy, rather than relying solely on common-equity issuance or conventional debt.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
This is more than a payment-calendar novelty. Strategy is attempting to engineer securities that behave increasingly like high-frequency income instruments while remaining connected to a balance sheet dominated by Bitcoin.
The October 28 shareholder vote is the immediate confirmation point.
Longer term, the metric worth watching is whether greater payment frequency materially improves liquidity, price stability or investor demand. If it does, Strategy may have developed another replicable financing mechanism for Bitcoin treasury companies. If it does not, daily dividends are primarily a structural innovation without much economic consequence.
