The seven-day count of altcoin deposits to tracked exchanges reached approximately 78,000 transactions on September 28, its highest level since October 2025.
CryptoQuant’s research placed the comparable September 14 total near 29,800 transactions. The two-week increase was therefore approximately 160%.
The number of addresses depositing altcoins also rose from roughly 17,600 to 51,600, nearly tripling over the period. The broader address count indicates that the change was not produced by only a few large senders. cointelegraph.com
Deposit count is not the same as deposit value. The published figures do not show whether the transactions contained $1,000 or $1 million, and a deposit to an exchange does not prove a completed sale. Assets may be moved for collateral, market making, rebalancing or custody.
The increase nevertheless arrives after smaller altcoins gained market share. Crypto assets outside the top 10 represented about 9% of total market capitalization on September 27, their highest share since February.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The breadth of the deposit increase is the useful signal, but value-weighted flows are still required before calling it material distribution.
If exchange balances and realized selling volume rise alongside the transaction count, the data would support a genuine supply-pressure warning. If deposit value remains modest, the increase may reflect broader participation and smaller transfers rather than a coordinated exit.
