Strategy bought another 334 BTC for $28.7 million between October 1 and October 4, bringing its total holdings to exactly 848,000 BTC, its October 5 Form 8-K shows. SEC
The company paid an average $85,838.80 per bitcoin for the latest batch. Its aggregate acquisition cost is now approximately $63.97 billion, or $75,440.70 per BTC including fees and expenses.
The same filing shows a notable capital-allocation contrast. During the September 28 to October 4 period, Strategy used $154.1 million of USD Cash to repurchase STRC preferred stock, compared with $13 million of USD Cash used for Bitcoin. Another $15.7 million of Bitcoin purchases was funded through MSTR share sales. SEC
Strategy also used $142.5 million of its USD Reserve for preferred dividends and interest. As of October 4, the USD Reserve stood at $4.88 billion and USD Cash at $833.4 million.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
Strategy is still accumulating Bitcoin, but this week’s filing shows that managing the securities wrapped around the treasury can demand more capital than the BTC purchase itself. The company is now operating a multi-instrument capital structure, not a simple buy-and-hold vehicle. Tracking preferred repurchases, dividends, reserve balances and common-share issuance is increasingly necessary to understand the Bitcoin strategy.
