Bitcoin Rebounds From $80,400, but $83,000 Remains Unrecovered

Bitcoin recovered to approximately $82,600 after falling as low as $80,400 late Thursday. The rebound followed President Donald Trump’s statement that the United States would not attack Iran before the 3 November midterm elections, easing an immediate source of oil and geopolitical risk.

The bounce does not reverse the prior support failure. Bitcoin began Thursday near $82,800 after already losing $83,000, then fell another 3% at the low before recovering. Ether remained weaker near $2,504, while Solana traded near $110.50.

More than $1 billion of bullish crypto positions were liquidated during the decline. The rebound then forced roughly $25 million of short liquidations over four hours, showing that late sellers were vulnerable once the geopolitical headline changed, CoinDesk reported.

Completed ETF data add a second constraint. U.S. spot Bitcoin funds lost $244.1 million on Thursday after $484.9 million on Wednesday. A recovery driven mainly by derivatives positioning would be less durable than one accompanied by renewed fund creations and spot demand.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The intraday defense near $80,000 held, but Bitcoin has not reclaimed the broken $83,000 position. A sustained move above that level would reduce the probability that the rebound is only a short squeeze. Failure below $83,000 keeps $80,000 as the active defense, with ETF flows providing the cleaner confirmation than intraday futures momentum.
