Bitcoin recovered to approximately $83,455 after falling to an intraday low near $81,000, turning an overnight leverage flush into a rapid two-way squeeze.
The Block reported that 24-hour crypto liquidations reached about $771 million during the initial decline, including $685.6 million in long positions. A later CoinDesk calculation placed the total near $803 million as the window advanced. The Block
Bitcoin briefly traded below $81,000 before recovering above $83,000. Ether rebounded from approximately $2,411 to around $2,514. Solana and XRP also moved off their lows, but remained weaker over the 24-hour period.
Macro pressure remains unresolved. South Korea’s KOSPI dropped more than 6%, semiconductor shares fell sharply, Brent crude held near $106 and the U.S. dollar remained close to an 18-month high. Thursday’s U.S. consumer-price report is the next scheduled macro test. coindesk.com
The first completed ETF session of the new week did not restore institutional demand. Farside Investors recorded a $65.4 million net outflow from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs on October 12, entirely attributed to BlackRock’s IBIT in the table available at scan time. Ether funds lost $85.4 million, while Solana funds recorded a $0.7 million outflow. Farside Investors
The ETF figures are daily net flows, not proof that fund redemptions caused the intraday price move. Their importance lies in persistence. Bitcoin and Ether products opened the week with another negative session after losing roughly $681 million and $542 million respectively during the prior week.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The rebound cleared immediate liquidation pressure but did not repair the demand picture. Bitcoin has shown buyers below $82,000, yet ETF redemptions, elevated oil and a strong dollar leave the recovery dependent on short covering and tactical dip demand. Holding above $83,000 through the U.S. session would stabilize the formation. A second loss of $81,000 would show that the leverage purge removed positions without creating durable spot support.
