Safe Ecosystem Foundation reported $57.64 billion held in Safe smart accounts at the end of the third quarter, up from $27.24 billion at the second-quarter close. The reported 111.6% increase cannot be read as pure net inflow.
Safe says Ether rose 66% during the quarter and that the calculation included DeFi positions for the first time. Price appreciation and a wider measurement perimeter therefore contributed to the increase alongside any new deposits.
Other metrics are less exposed to that specific accounting change. Safe accounts transferred $44.75 billion during the quarter, up 13.7%. Stablecoin balances rose 15% to $7.48 billion. SAFE staked in Safenet increased from 54.8 million to 73.5 million, while the reported staker count reached 884.
Safenet Beta checked 460,146 transactions during the quarter and 915,792 since its April launch. Ethereum accounted for 80.5% of third-quarter checks, Arbitrum 17.4% and Optimism 2.1%. Safe says the Guard contract passed formal verification and independent Sentinels remained on the testnet path. Safe Ecosystem Foundation
The figures are foundation-reported ecosystem metrics, not audited financial statements. Safe explicitly identifies the DeFi inclusion change, which prevents a clean quarter-to-quarter TVL comparison without a restated prior period.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
Safe’s most defensible growth signal is not the doubled dollar balance. It is the combination of higher transfer volume, more stablecoins and increased network staking. Production security still depends on opening Safenet to independent Sentinels and enforcing checks onchain. A restated TVL series and independently reproducible transaction dataset would make the scale claim more comparable.
