Bitcoin Approaches First July-to-September Winning Streak Since 2012

Bitcoin is positioned to complete three consecutive positive months from July through September, a sequence last recorded in 2012.

Bitcoin gained approximately 4.8% in July and 25.2% in August. It was ahead by about 10.9% for September while trading near $86,140 when CoinDesk calculated the monthly sequence.

The only previous July-to-September winning period occurred in 2012, when Bitcoin advanced 41%, 6.4% and 24.4% across those months. The following October produced a 9.7% decline before the longer rally resumed.

The comparison has limited forecasting value. Bitcoin’s market capitalization, derivatives markets, institutional ownership and macro sensitivity are entirely different from 2012. The current move also follows substantial ETF demand and more than $800 million in short liquidations.

Price is consolidating above $85,000 after briefly exceeding $87,000. Completion of the three-month streak still depends on Bitcoin remaining above its August close through September 30.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The streak confirms persistent demand across several monthly reporting periods, but the historical sample contains only one comparable observation.

The more useful signals are Bitcoin’s defense of $85,000, continued ETF creations and whether open interest expands without excessive funding. A successful September close would improve the long-term chart while leaving the market vulnerable to a shorter correction.

Watch $87,300 as immediate resistance, $85,000 as first support and $82,300 as the deeper breakout line.
