Bitcoin ETF Inflows Erase a $5.8B Deficit as BTC Holds Near $84K

Bitcoin spent much of Friday consolidating near $84,000, but the institutional flows underneath the market continued improving.

U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded six consecutive trading sessions of net inflows totaling approximately $2.84 billion, according to SoSoValue data reported by CoinDesk. The turnaround has pushed cumulative 2026 flows back into positive territory at nearly $800 million. CoinDesk, Bitcoin ETFs have erased a $5.8 billion hole

The reversal is substantial. On July 13, the same group of funds was approximately $5.8 billion underwater for the year on a net-flow basis. Bitcoin was trading below $58,000 in early June before recovering toward $85,000. CoinDesk

Thursday added approximately $191 million to the streak. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust accounted for roughly $163 million of that amount, according to Farside data cited by Cointelegraph. Cointelegraph, Bitcoin ETF six-day inflow streak reaches $2.8 billion

The flow pattern is becoming more informative because Bitcoin itself is no longer moving vertically. BTC has stalled after reaching almost $87,000 Tuesday, yet institutional investment products continue receiving capital.

The broader crypto market also strengthened Friday. CoinDesk reported that 93 of the 100 constituents in its CoinDesk 100 were higher during the session. The Computing Index gained 9.5% and the DeFi Select Index rose 8.7%, compared with a 2.5% gain in the broader benchmark. CoinDesk

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The institutional signal remains stronger than the price chart alone suggests.

Bitcoin ETFs have erased a $5.8 billion deficit without BTC needing to reclaim its previous all-time high. That indicates capital is returning before complete price confirmation.

The immediate test remains $85,000. A sustained recovery above that level would put $87,000 back into play. Failure to hold the $82,000 to $83,000 region would weaken the structure.

The strongest confirmation would be continued ETF accumulation while Bitcoin consolidates and capital rotates into the broader crypto market.
