Bitcoin Reclaims $82,000 After a Two-Hour Break Below $80,000

Bitcoin recovered to about $82,200 after briefly trading below $80,000, turning a fresh one-month low into a rapid intraday reversal. Live market data at scan time showed an intraday low near $79,844 and a high above $82,500.

The break lasted roughly two hours. CoinDesk reported that buyers returned near $79,800 after the market cut through the $80,400 area that had held twice during the previous week.

The recovery was part of a wider rebound in risk assets. South Korea’s Kospi gained nearly 3% after Thursday’s rout, while Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix each advanced more than 2%. Ether recovered to about $2,456, Solana to $106.70 and XRP to $1.34.

The macro pressure has not cleared. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was near 5.07%, and markets were still digesting hotter September inflation and uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s October decision. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh offered no rate-path guidance in Bangkok, emphasizing economic resilience while declining to prejudge the meeting, Reuters reported.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded only about $5.1 million of net inflow on October 15, while Ether funds lost about $60.2 million, based on settled SoSoValue data. The rebound therefore arrived without a decisive return of U.S. fund demand.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

The defense of $80,000 is a real tactical signal, but one fast rebound does not establish a durable floor. Bitcoin must recover $84,000, where the post-inflation rally previously failed, while ETF demand remains positive for more than a single marginal session. A renewed loss of $80,000 would show that the first defense was liquidity-driven rather than conviction-led.
