BitMart Faces Withdrawal and Missing Funds Allegations as Users Demand Answers

BitMart is facing public allegations of restricted withdrawals, unpaid employee compensation and missing customer funds, with users and employees demanding answers from CEO Sheldon Lee by August 19.

A statement circulating on X claims some customers remain unable to withdraw their assets, while employees are allegedly waiting for salaries and other compensation. The group is also demanding a full accounting of BitMart’s assets and a clear repayment plan.

The claims go further, questioning where customer deposits were held and whether sufficient assets remain available to meet withdrawal obligations.

At this stage, the allegations have not been independently verified, and the available material does not establish the size of any potential shortfall. BitMart and its executives would need to provide wallet data, liabilities or other financial records before claims of missing funds can be confirmed.

Intelligence Finding

The immediate risk is counterparty confidence. Withdrawal restrictions combined with unanswered questions about reserves can quickly turn an operational dispute into a liquidity problem if users begin attempting to exit simultaneously.

The August 19 deadline is the next checkpoint. A verifiable asset accounting, withdrawal timetable or proof of reserves could reduce uncertainty. Continued silence or evidence that customer liabilities exceed accessible assets would materially increase the risk for users with funds still held on the platform.
