Grayscale has filed for a three-for-one share split of its Zcash ETF after the fund accumulated approximately $233 million in net inflows during its first month of trading.
The September 18 SEC filing says shareholders of record at the September 28 close will receive two additional shares for every share owned.
Distribution is scheduled after the September 29 market close, with split-adjusted trading expected to begin September 30.
A share split does not change an investor’s proportional ownership or the fund’s total value. It reduces the price of each share while increasing the number outstanding.
ZCSH held approximately $890 million in net assets and had generated more than $11 billion in cumulative trading volume as of September 17, according to The Block.
The demand has accompanied record Zcash mining difficulty and a roughly 28% increase in estimated network solrate since late August. More computing power improves resistance to attacks but divides mining rewards among additional participants.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The split is an accessibility adjustment, not a creation of economic value.
The material intelligence is the combination of substantial ETF inflows, high trading volume and rising network-security participation.
Watch post-split liquidity, bid-ask spreads, whether inflows persist and how quickly higher mining difficulty compresses miner revenue.
