OKX is increasing scrutiny of cryptocurrency deposits associated with gambling and other high-risk payment channels.
According to OKX founder and CEO Star Xu, deposits originating from certain high-risk addresses can trigger an anti-money laundering review lasting 15 days or longer.
During an investigation, access to funds and account functions may be restricted. OKX says accounts confirmed to involve illicit activity can ultimately have service terminated.
The exchange specifically highlighted risks involving gambling-related transactions and certain Telegram-based escrow networks.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT:
Crypto exchanges continue moving closer to traditional financial surveillance standards. Traders should expect transaction history and wallet provenance—not simply account identity—to become increasingly important when exchanges evaluate risk.
