Ripple has expanded GSmart, an AI-agent system embedded in its Ripple Treasury platform, to cover liquidity, forecasting, risk, reconciliation and reporting.
The September 10 announcement says agents monitor treasury processes, recommend defined actions and identify the internal policy supporting each recommendation.
The agents cannot execute financial actions independently. Human approval remains mandatory, while deterministic software performs the underlying calculations and AI interprets policy, identifies patterns and explains recommendations.
Ripple is also introducing Knowledge Studio as the system’s policy and governance layer. Treasury teams can define controls that proposals must satisfy before being escalated to a person.
The technology is being deployed within Ripple Treasury, the business created from Ripple’s reported $1 billion acquisition of GTreasury. The company says GSmart is already in production across its enterprise customer base.
Unlike many AI-token announcements, this development does not depend on issuing a new crypto asset. Its connection to crypto lies in Ripple’s broader treasury, stablecoin and digital-asset settlement infrastructure.

Governed financial agents are more credible than fully autonomous treasury bots because they preserve auditability and approval controls.
The real test is whether GSmart improves forecast accuracy, working-capital efficiency and reconciliation time without introducing model-driven errors or policy misinterpretation.
Watch disclosed customer usage, measurable operational savings, incident reporting and whether agents eventually interact directly with stablecoin or tokenized-deposit settlement.
