Intelligence Assessment
Shiba Inu’s token burn program has passed another milestone, with more than 21,000 burn transactions completed, according to Shibburn.
The network has now permanently removed 410.84 trillion SHIB from circulation, equivalent to 41.08% of the token’s original one quadrillion supply. The remaining supply stands at roughly 589.15 trillion SHIB, with approximately 585.61 trillion SHIB currently in circulation.
Recent burn activity remains steady, with 2.85 million SHIB destroyed over the past 24 hours, 155.11 million over the last seven days, and 259.39 million during the past month.
The milestone comes as SHIB’s holder count climbs to 1,676,819 wallets, reflecting continued participation across the network.
Why It Matters
Token burns reduce the available supply over time, but their impact depends on scale. While the cumulative amount removed is substantial, the recent burn figures represent only a small fraction of SHIB’s circulating supply.
For the burn mechanism to materially influence price, supply reduction must be matched by sustained demand and higher network activity.
Intelligence Assessment
The burn milestone reflects continued community participation rather than a sudden change in SHIB’s tokenomics.
SHIB also moved higher alongside the broader crypto market after softer-than-expected U.S. inflation data improved risk appetite. Even so, the latest burn totals remain too small on their own to alter supply dynamics in the near term.
The next metric worth watching is whether burn activity accelerates alongside network usage. Without stronger demand, gradual supply reduction is unlikely to become the primary driver of price action.
