Strategy Returns to the Market With 950 Bitcoin Purchase

Strategy acquired 950 BTC for $75.7 million between September 14 and September 20, completing its first weekly Bitcoin purchase since late August.

The company’s SEC filing reports an average purchase price of $79,670 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. Strategy used existing U.S. dollar cash rather than proceeds from new at-the-market share sales.

Strategy now controls 846,000 BTC, acquired for approximately $63.8 billion at an average cost of $75,416. At current prices near $86,000, the position carries more than $8 billion in unrealized gains.

The company simultaneously spent $174 million repurchasing 1.77 million STRC preferred shares and used $57.4 million of its separate dollar reserve for preferred dividends and debt interest. Its reported balances after those transactions were $5.04 billion in the reserve and $1.05 billion in general dollar cash.

Strategy’s holdings represent more than 4% of Bitcoin’s maximum 21 million supply. The concentration increases its influence on the corporate treasury market while linking its financial position closely to Bitcoin prices and preferred-stock financing costs.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

Strategy resumed buying below the breakout and is already in profit on the latest acquisition.

Using cash rather than issuing new common shares reduces immediate dilution, but the wider capital structure remains complex. Bitcoin performance must be evaluated alongside preferred dividends, debt service and share repurchases.

Watch future SEC filings, the remaining cash balance, Bitcoin per diluted share and whether Strategy continues buying above $85,000.
