The United Kingdom has sanctioned three crypto exchanges, two payment businesses and one individual in a wider package targeting Russia’s oil revenue, military supply chains and sanctions-evasion networks.
The designated companies include Xeltox Enterprises, which the UK identifies as the owner of Cryptomus, along with Heleket, TokenSpot, Tsunami Payments and VexPay operator So was Processing KG. The UK action reported by Decrypt also names Ulan Bukabaev, a director of the Kyrgyz payment business.
The government said two of the targets processed transactions for the Kremlin-backed A7 network, although it did not identify which two. In addition to asset freezes, four companies face internet-service restrictions that require UK platforms, app stores and providers to take reasonable steps to block access.
TRM Labs analysis estimates Cryptomus received more than $204 million from previously sanctioned Garantex and sent it more than $101 million. Those figures are analytics-provider attributions, not the UK government’s transaction total.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The internet-service restrictions widen sanctions from asset control to distribution. The operational test is whether app stores, hosting providers and payment partners remove access, and whether activity migrates to successor domains or related entities such as Heleket.
