XRP Leads Major Tokens Lower With an 8%–10% Decline

XRP has fallen to approximately $1.28, making it the weakest major cryptocurrency in the immediate aftermath of the CLARITY Act vote.

The token initially dropped close to 10% toward $1.30 during Asian trading, according to CoinDesk’s market report. Live pricing later placed XRP near $1.28 and down more than 8% over 24 hours.

Ether and Solana also declined, but their losses were smaller. The divergence suggests XRP carried greater sensitivity to the disappearance of a federal market-structure catalyst.

That does not establish that every seller was reacting directly to legislation. Altcoin markets also contain higher leverage, thinner order books and concentrated positions that can magnify a broad risk-off move.

The Senate bill would not have automatically guaranteed a specific legal classification for XRP. It would, however, have created a clearer process for determining when digital assets fall under SEC or CFTC authority.

With the legislation stalled, regulatory progress returns to agency rulemaking and court precedent. That uncertainty is particularly important for assets whose market history has been shaped by securities-law disputes.

TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT

XRP’s underperformance shows that regulatory sensitivity remains a material market factor.

The immediate intelligence question is whether the decline represents a temporary liquidation event or a broader repricing of expectations for U.S. regulatory clarity.

Watch whether XRP reclaims $1.30, exchange open interest, spot demand and any SEC rulemaking that could provide an alternative regulatory pathway.
