KuCoin has stopped offering its products and services to users in Russia and Belarus, effective immediately. The exchange says affected customers will receive account-specific deadlines and instructions for closing positions and withdrawing assets.
The official notice, published late on 29 October, covers every KuCoin product, service and feature. Users who do not receive a notification are told that no immediate action is required, although their accounts remain subject to KuCoin’s terms and applicable restrictions. kucoin.com
KuCoin cited legal and regulatory compliance but did not identify a particular sanctions order, regulator or licensing requirement as the trigger. It also did not disclose the number of affected accounts, their balances or a common withdrawal deadline.
The move follows similar October restrictions by MEXC and Bitget. The sequence shows a wider withdrawal by international exchanges from two sanctioned markets, rather than an isolated product closure.
An orderly exit remains an operational claim until users can close leveraged positions and withdraw assets. Individual notices create flexibility, but they also make it difficult to determine the overall timetable and whether every customer will receive equivalent access.
TOKEN RECON ASSESSMENT
The policy consequence is larger than KuCoin’s market share. Three major exchanges have now restricted Russia and Belarus in the same month, narrowing offshore access even without a single public order explaining every departure. The next confirmation points are the actual closure deadlines, completed withdrawals, any frozen accounts and a regulator or sanctions authority identifying the legal basis.
